Libertas: Where’s the beef?

Europe deserves facts, surely?

Europe deserves facts, surely?

Still no sign of the much vaunted “Libertas programme for a better Europe” on their website. Libertas stand on a platform of lean government, and certainly, when it comes to telling voters about what they would do in the European Parliament, lean is an understatement. This is a quarter pounder without the beef, all cheese and plenty of secret sauce.

The Greens reply on Blasphemy.

Senator Deirdre De Burca, Green Party candidate for the European Parliament in Dublin, has replied to me on the Blasphemy issue:

” The proposed legislation on Blasphemy is something that has been mooted by Minister Dermot Ahern. It has not been discussed at Cabinet. My party is not in favour of legislating for it – we see many problems in what is being proposed. We cannot prevent the Minister of a given department from flagging something that he wishes to take action on, but it is incorrect of you to say that my party will vote for the proposed measure.”

That’s me put in my box so!
