Construction of an new imperial Death Star has been blocked by the Irish planning board, it was revealed today. Opponents of the proposed development welcomed the decision, confirming their fears that it was inappropriate to locate a weapon of mass genocide so close to a primary school, and also questioned the effect it would have on local traffic. Speaking on behalf of the Empire, a spokesperson regretted the decision, pointing out that it would have provided both construction and full-time employment, and also ancillary trade for local business as rebels usually set up a secret base nearby to plan their attacks on the facility, and would need catering facilities.

Local deputy Lucinda Creighton (FG) welcomed the decision, although she did stress her overall support for the Empire and its tough law and order stance, especially against rebel scum.
