And the message is: Guff.

Listening to FF’s Donegal candidate on Morning Ireland this morning, if I were a Fianna Failer I’d be worried. He’s a byelection candidate, and so only gives a toss about what happens in Donegal South West, and how his message is received there, which is hardly surprising. But the fact that he had no message other than to keep throwing the phrase “young people” into the mix is worrying. You would think FF would be trying out their general election message now, or at least considering what the hell they are going to say to people. He tried to talk about everything he would do for the constituency as a government TD whilst distancing himself from the government at the same time, which would be a neat trick if you could pull it off.

Wait a minute: That is the message, isn’t it?
