The new British prime minister, David Cameron, has nominated Mr. Strong to the position of secretary of state for defence. Speaking this morning, Mr Cameron said: ” We want to send a clear signal to the world that we regard defence as a key issue. I think we have done that.” Further appointments are to include Mr. Noisy as foreign secretary, Mr. Bump as health minister, Mr Mean as chancellor and Mr Nosey as Home secretary. The coalition had hoped to nominate Mr. Tickle to a junior ministry, but then Lembit Opik went and lost his seat.
